Large Brown Cicada

Large Brown Cicada is the most common cicada species in Japan. It is rare in the world that colored winged cicadas are also commonly seen in developed urban areas.
羽化直後の姿(テネラル)は金粉のかかった緑白色をしており、見惚れる程に美しいです。毎夏これを見に夜な夜な近所の公園を徘徊してしまいます。
Teneral is white-green color with golden powder. So it is very beautiful. I wander around the park at night to see this every summer.
翅の白色部は乾燥にしたがって、よく見る茶色に色付いていきます。
The white part of the wing turns brown with drying.
