オキナワハクセンシオマネキ
Austruca perplexa
南西諸島で最も一般的に見られるシオマネキの一種。白色、灰色、黒色で構成された体色をしているが、雄の大鉗脚は成長に従い黄色味を帯びます。シオマネキ類は捕獲難易度が高く、動くと危険を察知してすぐに巣穴へ逃げ込んでしまいます。ですが、本種は警戒心が他種より薄く、捕獲しやすいです。昼の干潮に干潟や河口へ行くと見られます。
Austruca perplexa is one of the most commonly found fiddler crab species in Okinawa. The body color composed of white, gray and black, and the large muscular legs of the male have a yellowish tinge as they grow. Fiddler crab species have high capture difficulty, and they hide to the nest immediately as soon as they sense the danger. However, this species is more vigilant than others and is easy to catch. You can see this crab by going to the tidelamd and estuary in low tide at daytime.
かなり飼育しやすい種で、普通に数を飼育していると抱卵し、放幼もします。
